WHAT TO EXPECT

Gain a unique perspective into the culture and way of life of the Balinese people during this full-day trekking and sightseeing tour. With a guide, you'll visit natural and heritage sights such as a bamboo forest, rice paddies, Holy Spring Water Temple, and more as you spend about two hours trekking in the countryside. Lunch and hotel pickup and drop-off are included.

Your tour begins with a pickup from your accommodation before taking you the first stop, Taro, one of the oldest Hindu villages in central Bali, dating back some 3,000 to 4,000 years. Steeped in tradition and culture, Taro and its rural lifestyle have remained mostly unchanged for a thousand years. The isolated village boasts the oldest temple structure on Bali and is also home to the sacred white cows that are rare on the island.

Take a walk through a bamboo forest, and observe the timeless routine of farmers planting and harvesting rice from the emerald green rice fields unfolding before you. As you take in this agricultural scene, learn about the native ecosystem and its variety of plants, far from urban life. You'll also have a chance to meet local people and see a bit of their daily lives in the village as you're invited to participate in activities such as planting or arts and crafts.

Your hike lasts roughly four hours, during which you'll also see tropical fruits like Salak, durian, jackfruit, papaya, oranges, mandarin, mangoes, and Mangosteen, plus enjoy the opportunity to try spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric, direct from their natural sources. Take a break to cool off with a swim in a natural spring pool.

Your tour is not complete until you've enjoyed lunch consisting of authentic Balinese foods. After lunch, we'll visit Holy Spring Water Temple (Tirta Empul) and a luwak coffee and spice plantation. Your tour ends with drop-off back to at your accommodation.
